Roslyn Whiting Leathercraft
Roslyn Whiting has a vibrant creativity - from an early age enjoying embroidery, sewing, drawing and painting. She started working with leather as a young teenager and instantly loved working with this natural tactile material.
Her main inspiration is the beautiful British countryside, with its delicate flora and insects. She uses all her own drawings and designs to hand-tool onto the leather. Her products are hand-stitched using the striking saddlery stitch creating beautiful and durable products that will develop a lovely patina.
Roslyn is committed to sourcing high quality British made materials, including buckles made from the last British manufacturer, and British leather. She uses vegetable tanned leather, which is the traditional way of tanning leather using tree bark and other vegetation.
Roslyn's studio/workshop is based in her home, in the beautiful historic Scottish Border town of Melrose, nestling between the Eildon Hills and the meandering River Tweed.
