Onegoodturn makes beautiful turned wood objects with a natural finish,
specializing in a variety of local hardwoods from the Scottish Borders.
The bulk of the wood is obtained directly from locally-sourced trees, rather than from wood specially prepared for the lathe, and even the
polish is provided by local bees!
The emphasis is on the natural form of the wood, so each of the objects from the wide range on offer has an individual character,
determined by the grain and flaws of the tree it came from.
While much of the work is now done on power lathes, Bob is still happy to demonstrate the pole-lathe that he started on originally,
and he is still heavily involved in the community woodland at Wooplaw, where it all began.
